Motor Racing

One of only two racing circuits in Wales, Pembrey is an extremely popular bike track day venue and is only eight miles from the Terry Griffiths Matchroom.

Pembrey is another of those circuits ignored due to its location. That's unfortunate as it represents great racing of nearly one and a half miles of continually improving track. In 2001 there was some much needed investment with vast improvements being made to the whole venue. The long-awaited track extension, a new pit complex and spectator bridge, meant that the circuit was eligible for international race meetings.

Another airfield so, again, it's a bit flat which can make finding your way around difficult until you get used to it. The lap is governed by two vital corners: Brooklands Hairpin and Honda Curve. Each leads on to a critically fast part of the circuit so carrying speed is vital. The inner part of the circuit is seemingly a never ending sequence of bends while the incredibly tight Hatchers hairpin is at the end of the longest straight making it very easy to overshoot under braking.

The circuit is a favourite test track for many of the Formula 1 racing teams including Honda (Brawn) and Mclaren.
