Video Upload Guidelines

It would be of mutual benefit if you could read through these guidelines before trying to upload your videos for an online lesson with Terry Griffiths or Wayne Griffiths.

Getting these videos right will make it far easier for us to give detailed feedback - the more we get to see, the more we can comment on. Terry Griffiths Snooker cannot be responsible for online lessons that suffer as a result of poor or incorrect videos sent through for analysis.

Some of the general guidelines are as follows:

  • We must have a side on, a front on and a rear video profile. The fourth video - a talking head outlining your problems - is optional;
  • Good lighting on your video is ESSENTIAL and will make the whole process easier and more beneficial for both player and coach;
  • Please use a tripod to mount your video camera. If you do not have a tripod, try placing the camera on a steady surface. Holding the camera free hand is the last option. Keep it perfectly still during capture, as any movement during filming will make analysis more difficult;
  • The ideal videos for each of the compulsory profiles can be seen as still picture examples below, or, for more detailed information on the ideal video capture, by watching the help video at the bottom of this page;
  • Each compulsory video should be no longer than 30 - 40 seconds in length and the optional talking head video should be no longer than 1 minute;
  • Videos that are longer than the suggestions outlined above may be rejected;
  • If possible, you will need to let us know in the space available for text underneath the video uploads, what sort of shot you think you are playing, i.e. gentle, medium or high power and an idea of what spin you are applying - topspin, stun or backspin;
  • In the written text section mentioned above, or in the talking head video (1 minute max.), we are also looking for a very brief outline of the problem(s) you would like us to address in your game or your technique. Be as specific as possible. An example may be - "In all three videos I have played a medium power shot for backspin. My fault is that I am very inconsistent with backspin - most times missing the pot to the left and often, especially under pressure, jumping the cue ball to make a foul";
  • If you do not feel confident enough to add any of this information in the compulsory text section, just write 'do not know' and we will do our best with the video information only;
  • If you are unsure about any aspect of the information outlined above, or have any concerns, please contact us before you purchase the lesson and we will do our best to reply with the information you need.

After paying the online lesson fee, you will be sent an email confirming the payment was successful with a link to our video upload page. You must then upload your videos following the instructions shown and the guidelines outlined above. Once we get the message to let us know that you have succefully uploaded videos for analysis, we will download your videos into our Snooker Lab software and complete the online lesson.

On completion, you will be sent an email with a link. Clicking this link will take you to your completed online lesson. You should then download and save your online lesson to your own computer.

We will do our best to return your video within 3 - 5 working days. If it is likely to take more than 5 working days, we will endeavour to contact you to explain the reasons for this.
